Fra v Cam: Hosts can secure a high scoring victory

Indomitable Lions of Cameroon Indomitable Lions of Cameroon

Didier Deschamps names his final squad for Euro 2016 this week and there will be plenty of players looking to make a good impression in the friendly clash in Nantes.

The hosts continue their build up to the European Championships with a game against Cameroon in Nantes. With Didier Deschamps set to name his final squad for the tournament on Tuesday there will be plenty of motivation for all involved against the African visitors to put in a good showing and secure their place at the finals, especially with such a star-studded provisional squad for the 47-year-old to pick from.

Les Bleus of course have suffered a double defensive injury blow with Real Madrid's Raphael Varane and Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu both ruled out in recent weeks, while Varane's club teammate Karim Benzema will be missing out due to his actions off the pitch.

Nevertheless, the French squad is vastly talented and the side should be able to record a comfortable win over Hugo Broos' men who have managed just one victory in their last five matches. Given the gap in quality and form between the two teams it's unsurprising to see Paddy Power offer a home win at 2/9 (1.36) while the visitors can he backed at an optimistic 10/1 (11.00) and the draw is priced at 11/2 (6.50).

The likelihood of an upset however seems small especially with France on a run of seven wins from their last eight fixtures and in excellent scoring form to boot. Les Bleus have netted at least twice in six of their last seven matches although the price of 3/10 (1.33) for them to score over 1.5 goals will attract few punters as a single bet.

Indeed, it is a struggle to find much value in backing a home win yet the price of 4/5 (1.80) for France to win and over 2.5 goals in the game is perhaps worthy of consideration.

This bet has paid out in five of France's last seven matches, including the recent 3-2 success of Holland and the 4-2 win over Russia and with Deschamps' players likely to be extremely motivated to put in a good performance, another high scoring home win could well be on the cards.
