Eto’o axed for Afcon qualifiers

Cameroon’s 25-man squad for the first round of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 qualifiers has been announced.

Indomitable Lions’ head coach Volker Finke has decided to leave behind skipper Samuel Eto’o as well as 12 other players who competed at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, including first choice keeper Charles Itandje, centre-back Aurélien Chedjou, midfielder Jean II Makoun and striker Achille Webo.

The major changes come on the back of a disastrous Brazilian campaign, on and off the pitch.

Cameroon will travel to Lubumbashi on 6 September to face DR Congo before hosting Côte d’Ivoire in Yaoundé on 10 September.
