Philadelphia Union announced on Tuesday that they have agreed to terms with defender Raymond Lee and Cameroonian midfielder Eric Ayuk Mbu.
Both Lee and Ayuk have been training with the team since the beginning of pre-season.
Per club and league policy, the terms of their deals were not disclosed. “Both Ray and Ayuk have worked hard during the pre-season and have earned this opportunity,” technical director Chris Albright said in a team release. “We’re excited to have them in our group and both should have bright futures here in Philadelphia.”
Lee, 21, was selected by the Union in the fourth round with the No. 71 overall pick of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. The defender was a four-year starter at Saint Louis, where he scored 14 goals and had six assists, playing primarily as a midfielder. He was a second in All-Atlantic 10 performer in 2014 and helped carry the Billikens into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Ayuk, 18, is a Cameroonian midfielder who joined the team from Rainbow FC Bamenda in Cameroon.
