Former Ajax Cape Town midfielder Eyong Enoh will not get a reunion with former protagonists from the Premier Soccer League when Cameroon meet South Africa in their two African Nations Cup qualifiers over the next five days.

Injury has ruled the hard-tackling midfielder out of the Group M matches in Limbe on Saturday and Durban next Tuesday. He suffered an adductor injury at the start of the month playing for Standard Liege in the Belgian league and was also absent last Sunday when they won the Belgian Cup.

Eyong, who turns 30 this year, received his first call up from Cameroon in 2009, not long after he left Cape Town to move to Ajax Amsterdam. He went on to participate in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and again in Brazil in 2014 and is vice-captain of the Indomitable Lions.

In 2008, Eyong helped Ajax Cape Town to the runner-up berth in the Absa Premiership and was one of the nominees for the Player of the Season award.
