On September 1,2014, Belgian top side Standard Liege announced on its official website that they have signed the Cameroonian defensive midfielder,Enoh Eyong on a two year contract.
After a poor experience with Ajax, Fulham and Antalyaspor, the energetic midfielder’s dream of once more showcasing his talent in another top division in Europe seem to be in jeopardy after it is believed that the Turkish Football Federation are not willing to issue the player an International Transfer Certificate requested.
Recently, Standard Liege issued a statement on its website saying: "the Turkish Football Federation has refused to issue the International Transfer Certificate requested by the Belgian Federation in the FIFA TMS computer system," reads the statement on the Belgian club’s website.
The club goes further to say that before arriving an agreement with the player, all his documents were in order with the player free to leave the club. “The player has all the documents stating that there is no longer any contractual relationship between him and his former club Antalyaspor," informs the Standard.
Enoh’s new club has however; turn to the football governing body, FIFA to intervene in the matter.
Despite all the controversy surrounding his transfer, the Cameroonian has been introduced to fans of Standard Liege and has been given jersey number 21. He is however, unable to play until the problem is solved.
The 28 year old Enoh's football career began in the youth ranks of local club Little Foot FC from Tiko, he was picked up after garnering attention during the 2002 University Championship of Cameroon playing for the University of Buéa where he was studying medicine at the time.
