Coton set for Ahly at Confederation Cup semis

Cairo giants Ahly will be hosted by Cameroon's Coton Sport in Garoua on 20 September.

Cameroon's Coton Sport have set 20 September as the date they will face Egyptian giants, Ahly in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup in the city of Garoua.

"CAF officially informed us that Coton Sport have chosen 20 September for the semi-final's first leg," Ahly said in a statement on its official website on Saturday morning.

Ahly qualified for semi-finals following a home goalless draw last Saturday with Tunisia's Etoile Sahel in the final round of the group stage. Ahly are the first Egyptian side to book a last-four berth at Africa's secondary club competition since ENPPI qualified for the semis in 2009, although the latter went on to lose to Stade Malien.

The Cameroonian side secured a place in the semis despite Sunday's draw against Malian side Real Bamako that left them second in their group.

The second leg between Ahly and Coton is set to take place in Cairo on 27 September.
