Choupo hopes to convince Matip to return

Lions Striker, Eric Maxim Choupo Moting who plays for Schalke 04, says he would do his best to convince his friend and teammate, Joel Matip to return to the national team.

Matip decided to stay away from the national team for sometime due to the disorder witnessed in the Lions den during the World Cup.

He turned down the call-up staying he would not be available, and the Caoch, Volke Finke justified his decision saying with his club not performing well he needed time off.

Speaking during the press conference at the CAT Technical Centre, Choupo said Matip has not recovered from the woes of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He said Matip was not born in Cameroon and does not understand some things that happened during the World Cup.

But, he is hopeful Matip would come back to the national team.
