Canon Yaounde eliminates Fovu Baham, pass for quater-finals

The 2014 edition of the Cup of Cameroon football league reaches quarter-finals.

The second legs of knockout played this Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, were marked by a big surprise.

There was victory for Hurricane Yaounde club, a second regional division against Dragon Yaounde, League champions and two newly admitted in Ligue 1 for the next season.

But the surprise is in the fact that Dragon had won the first leg with a score of 3 goals to 1 and their supporters believed that the return leg would be handled as a mere formality. Error, Hurricane moved, humiliated the winners with a score of 2 goals to 4.

Yaounde: Dragon - Hurricane Yaounde 2-4

Meiganga: Water Polo - UMS Loum 1-2

Kumbo: Kumbo strikers - Dynamo Douala 2-0

Limbe: Njalla Quan Sports - Douala Athletic Club 0-1

Douala: Plane FC Nkam - Panther Nde 0-2

Qualified for the quarterfinals are: Coton Sport of Garoua, Hurricane Yaounde Apejes Mfou, Panther Nde, Sports Canon Yaounde, UMS Loum, Kumbo strikers Douala and athletic club. Six Ligue 1 clubs and two second regional division.

The regulator of the trophy, Yong Sport Bamenda, was eliminated in the knockout stages.
