Cameroon legend tips Bafana to win

Bafana Bafana of South Africa Bafana Bafana of South Africa

Former Cameroon midfielder Roger Feutmba has tipped South Africa to win in tonight's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between the two countries.

"I'm not a traitor and I'm just being honest as I analyse this match for you," he said.

Bafana Bafana and the Indomitable Lions have met on eight previous occasions. Bafana have won three, Cameroon one and there have been four draws.

"The first leg was a good game [2-2]. I believe Bafana did great in Cameroon and if they stick to their style of play in Durban, they can win.

"I know that Cameroon team well and Bafana can lose against another team, but they always have a good chance to win against Cameroon. It's got something to do with Bafana's style of play," Feutmba said.

"Bafana play one-touch, fast football, and that makes life difficult for Cameroon. Check the records between the two countries and ask yourself: why is it that Bafana have a better record against Cameroon? You will realise that the style of play makes a difference," he said.

"When you play fast against Cameroon, you always put them in a difficult situation. Cameroon have defensive-minded players, especially in that midfield department like Stephane Mbia, and that makes it difficult for the team to go forward. You could have seen that in the first leg, they were just looking for the set pieces in dangerous areas to score against Bafana."
