Cameroon gain 3 places in latest FIFA world ranking

The Indomitable Lions have gleaned three places in the FIFA/Coca-Cola ranking of July released on Thursday.

Cameroon, which occupied the 56th rank in the last ranking of June, just before the kickoff of the World Cup "Brazil 2014", is now in the 53rd position.

On African level, the Indomitable Lions rank eight, meaning two places gained but still ranked behind the five African nations that took part in the World cup 2014.

Algeria consolidated its place as Africa's leaders. The Elephants were second with a few points, as Ghana, Africa's fifth regresses one place.

Nigeria improved the most by gathering ten points ranking the Super Eagles in 3rd place in Africa.

However, out of the 32 nations that participated in the World Cup, Cameroon is ranked 30th, ahead of South Korea (56th) and Australia (76th). Indomitable Lions certainly did not show a shiny face in Brazil with early elimination in the first round, culminating in three defeats in three games, but they were not the worst in the competition.

In the general ranking, Germany, world champions logically occupy the first place, followed by Argentina and the Netherlands.

Brazil, the host nation of the World Cup 2014 lost four seats and is ranking seventh.
