CS Sfaxien to pay FCFA 216 mln to Cameroon

Marius Noubissi Marius Noubissi

Without pay for three months, Marius Noubissi had filed a complaint against the Sportif Sfaxien club for “breach of contract“.

Marius Noubissi won his lawsuit against CS Sfaxien, a team of the Tunisian elite championship. His former club must pay him the sum of 216 million CFA francs (331 000 euros). This is the consequence of the verdict of March 18, 2016 by the Dispute Resolution Chamber of FIFA reached by the National Union of Cameroonian footballers (SYNAFOC) on April 15, 2016. The Tunisian club has 30 days to pay the amount expected from the date of notification of the decision of FIFA.

In detail, the team will over FCFA 21 million in respect to salary arrears, 89,850 FCFA as medical expenses and FCFA 195 million as compensation for breach of contract. The complainant, same as the accused club may appeal within 10 days of notification of the verdict.

Marius Noubissi seized the FIFA six months ago, complaining of wrongful breach of his 5-year contract signed in January 2015. Concretely, Marius Noubissi ended his contract in August 2015 for a “good reason” after three months without salary. He then turned to the National Union of Cameroonian footballers of which he is a member to require repair.

Conciliation attempts took place, but did not prosper. The SYNAFOC in September 2015 and the player, took the case to the Commission disputes resolutions of the Federation Internationale de Football Association.

For the SYNAFOC who reports the facts, “this decision of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Commission is also similar to an exemplary decision to send a strong message to unscrupulous leaders having fun every day to violate the rights of footballers “.
