Côte d’Ivoire clash like a final for the Lions

Ahead of their clash with Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon’s full back Ambroise Oyongo Bitolo says they will play as if it was a final.

The two African giants will be facing each other in Yaoundé on Wednesday, in matchday 2 of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2015 qualifiers in Group D.

Both sides have kicked off their qualifying campaign on a winning note, with the Indomitable Lions edging ahead of the Elephants at the top of the Group on goal difference.

And Cameroon are determined to keep their momentum going on home soil.

“We must give our best. We must play as if it was a final,” Oyongo Bitolo said at a press conference on Monday.

The Lions are aware of the task ahead of them but believe they stand a chance of stopping Yaya Touré and his teammates.

“They are a very good team, one of the best in Africa with many great players. They have been playing together for a long time,” Cameroon’s Vice-captain Eric Choupo-Moting acknowledged.

“The most important thing is for each one of us to fight. It will not be easy as they have a lot of individual quality, but together, everything is possible,” the Schalke striker added.
