Buea's Clinton Njie eyes first international cap

Lyon striker, Clinton Njie will be looking forward to his first international cap for the Indomitable Lions after he was called up in Finke’s 25 man squad ahead of matches against DR Congo and Ivory Coast.

Clinton Mua N'Jie, a Buea local is 21 years old and currently plays for French Ligue 1 giants, Olympique Lyonnais.

The quick and versatile striker whose game style is dominated with pace and zeal for goals, made 50 appearances with Lyon B from 2010 to 2012 which saw him promoted to the senior team where he signed a 4 year contract.

Recently, during the third round of the 2014-2015 UEFA Europa League, the young striker opened his European continental scoring account when his late goal against Mlada Boleslav gave his side a 2-1 victory.

With his pace, hunger for goals and energy, the striker is definitely the youngsters Cameroonians will be looking forward to make the lions roar once again. Also, English speaking Cameroonians will be looking forward to see someone step into the shoes of Pius Ndefi, Adouncho Mathieu among others who have all scored for the Lions.
