Cameroon’s new head coach Hugo Broos has warned his side not to underestimate South Africa ahead of their double clash in Group M of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Indomitable Lions have been dealt multiple injury blows with full-back Ambroise Oyongo-Bitolo, midfielder Eyong Enoh, winger Clinton N’Jie and strikers Eric Choupo-Moting, Benjamin Moukandjo and Leonard Kweuke all ruled out for the double tie.

The Belgian tactician will also have to cope with the absence of West Ham midfielder Alexandre Song, who has turned down his international call-up, and suspended Vincent Aboubakar.

But while Broos was, however, pleased with the Lions’ training facilities after resuming his first camp at the helm of Cameroon, and remains confident they can do the job against Bafana Bafana, he is also wary of South Africa threat.

“The first contact has been very good, and I know all the faces by now,” the 63-year-old said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“The training center is perfect for our preparation. All the conditions are in place for us to work well.

“Bafana Bafana are very dangerous opponents (…) But everyone in the squad is ready to play. I have faith in them.”

The Indomitable Lions will host Bafana Bafana in Limbé on 26 March, before taking them on in Durban three days later.
