Bangante mayor wants stadium to be named Chantal Biya

Celestine Ketcha Courtès indicated this during his speech at the ceremony of laying the foundation stone on Monday, April 25, 2016.
The ceremony of laying the first stone for the construction of the new Omnisport stadium of Bangangte, Capital of the Nde Division, in the West Region was held last Monday.

In his speech for the occasion, Mrs. Ketcha Courtès , Mayor of the City of Bangangte did not fail to say that she will propose during the next Town Council the name of Mrs. Chantal Biya as the name of the future Omnisport stadium of Bangangte.

Located in the Banekuane subdivision, the future Omnisport stadium of Bangangte will be out of the ground in 6 months. The provisional budget estimated at 780 million FCFA will be financed by FECAFOOT. The representative the Prime Potamac Group, Ben Modo, assured that his company is committed to meet the time requirements while achieving the work according to international standards.

As for the work itself, the stadium will consist of a synthetic turf of last generation, an athletics track at the Olympic standards, covered bleachers with a capacity of 2,000 seats, a borehole and a generator, dressing rooms for teams, officials, a technical control room, a gym, a restaurant, a VIP lounge, a conference room, etc.

During the ceremony of the laying of the first stone of this sports infrastructure, the President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), Tombi A Roko Sidiki, talked about all the attention that his institution brings to the flowering of talent, to improve the performance of young players and infrastructure development.

The stadium “has the merit not only to overcome the problem of outdated existing infrastructure, but also to stop the wanderings of the local club …,” he added.
