The Celtic number seven has told Goal that he is confident the South African national team can go to Cameroon and come away with a result.
Bloemfontein Celtic winger Lyle Lakay has said that he believes Bafana Bafana can get the result against Cameroon in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier this Saturday.

“Yes, we are not sitting pretty in the group standings but I believe they can go to Cameroon and win,” Lakay told Goal.

“What I’ve learnt is that you have to be mentally tough when playing away in other countries and the pace of the game is quicker.”

Lakay who was called-up to the national team for the 2016 Chan qualifiers last year mentions that he would have liked to have been called up to the national side again, especially after finding good form with Celtic thereafter.

The attacker managed to score for Bafana in a 2-1 win against Angola in the Chan qualifiers with a lofted free-kick from range.

He concluded by wishing the boys in camp well and urged them to give it their best.

“Who wouldn’t want a call-up? I believe if I continue working hard, performing and helping my team win I’ll get another call up.

"My wishes to the boys is just to go out there and give it their all,” Lakay said.
