Orlando Pirates star Mpho Makola believes Bafana Bafana can overcome Cameroon in their upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The midfielder has been in scintillating form at club level and marked his first South Africa cap with stunning goal against Senegal in the Nelson Mandela Challenge in September last year.

He told Vodacom Soccer that he is optimistic Bafana can upset the Indomitable Lions in the two matches on 26 and 29 March.

"Firstly it feels really good to know that all my hard work and performances for Pirates haven't gone unnoticed," he said. "It is a great feeling to be finally included in the national team; I wish the call up would've come earlier.

"But the experience that I have been gaining over the years through competing in CAF competitions with Pirates has come in really handy in the three matches that I have played.

"I believe it will be a tough two matches against a great national, but we also have really good players called up and overall a good squad.

"With the right frame of mind and approach, this team can beat anyone," he concluded.
