Aspire initiative change lives - Njembe

Augustin Njembe, who was selected last year into Aspire Football Academy in Qatar on holiday in Cameroon for the past two weeks, has described the initiative which provides life opportunities to underprivileged youths as fantastic.

Present at Fecafoot Technical Centre to see those who might join them in Qatar next year, Njembe stressed that Aspire Football Dreams initiative elevates the poor.“You are removed from the mud and elevated to another standard, a star, I lack words to describe this because I am so happy, we are given the opportunity to shine and it is for us to exhibit our potentials and progress”, he stated.

Depending on the individual, there is a possibility to learn if a person so desires, Njemebe says. A typical day of a student begins at 6:00am, organising himself and going for training, by 8:30 at the school and back in the afternoon, to rest and then back to training.

“The only challenge is having to cope with other students from other countries with different cultures, temperaments, and mentality”, he says. After the holidays, Njebe would go back to integrate the academy from the next five years after which he would be ripe for professional contracts in Europe.

Meanwhile, Gamaba Gideon Bienvenue, the 2010 batch maintained that the training which is a combination of football and studies is going on smoothly. “I sat for the BEPC exams this year and I know that all is well”.
