Aboubakar helps Cameroon to narrow win

Cameroon enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Indonesia in a friendly in Sidoarjo on Wednesday, as they kicked off their FIFA window’s Asian tour.

FC Porto’s striker Vincent Aboubakar scored the lone goal of the encounter in the 36th minute.

The former FC Lorient hitman was wearing the armband for the Indomitable Lions in the absence of Stéphane M’Bia and Eric Choupo-Moting.

The friendly clash at the Gelora Delta Stadium also witnessed the international debut of Unisport’s defender Ngweni Ndassi and Sporting Gijon’s attacking midfielder Daniel Ndi.

That’s another clean sheet in favour of Cameroon against Indonesia, with whom they recorded a goalless draw in their first and last encounter in 2012.

Volker Finke and his players are now set to battle Thailand at the Yamaha Stadium in Nonthaburi on March 30.
