AFCON 2016: PM inspects infrastructure in SW Region

The Prime Minister - Head of Government, Philemon Yang has inspected structures under construction and renovation in the Littoral and South Regions that will host the 2016 African Cup Nations.

During his visit of hotels and sports infrastructure in Douala and Limbe, Prime Minister Yang instructed the construction companies to respect the deadline for the completion of construction works.

The Head of Government and his delegation of Cabinet Ministers were reassured by the heads of the different companies that the sites will be ready to host the continental competition in November 2016.

At the end of the visit, Prime Minister - Head of Government, Philemon Yang granted a press conference and noted that the construction companies are working well and the government is accompanying them to ensure that the projects and realized on time.

He called for the collaboration of all stakeholders to ensure that the works are effectively completed before the 2016 African Women’s Football championship and the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

The inspection visit in the Littoral and South West Regions comes after similar a exercise were carried out in the Centre Region with calls on engineers and technicians to speed up the building process.
