Bar GA President exhorts FAKLA to stay united

The President of the General Assembly of Cameroon Bar Association, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle, has exhorted the Fako Lawyers Association, FAKLA, to stay united and work together in the interest of the Bar.

Barrister Nico Halle made the exhortation at a heavily attended FAKLA meeting in Muyuka, Southwest Region recently.
Presumably referring to apparent fissures within FAKLA, Halle remarked: “Differences must exist; even with your spouse, cook, driver, and others; there is nowhere on earth that differences do not exist. But what matters is how they are settled for the good and harmony of all.”

Asking lawyers to be good examples in society, the Bar GA President stated: “People must see in a lawyer something to emulate; lawyers lead and others follow. But for that to happen, lawyers must show credibility and integrity. This is the only country in which lawyers are sent to the back burner. First, they must stay together as one family to build the walls against enemies.

“Love must exist among lawyers: where there is love, there is justice; where there is justice, there is peace; where there is peace, there is harmony,” Halle stated.

He congratulated FAKLA President, Barrister Felix Agbor Nkongho, for having been elected President of African Bar Assembly.

Earlier, FAKLA President, Barrister Felix Agbor Nkongho, quoted the virulent writer and varsity lecturer of blessed memory, Dr. Bate Besong, when the microphone was faulty, “Does anything work in this country?”
Agbor Nkongho, observed: “Fortunately, the Minister of Peace, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle is here, we pray there is peace. Nkongho exhorted lawyers to be “the voice of the voiceless and speak out for the Anglophone Struggle and Common Law Lawyers.”

He described FAKLA as the most organised and finest association in the country.

“We are proud to belong to this august association. We should put FAKLA among our personal interests so that posterity will say we contributed in our own way to make FAKLA and the Bar a strong association.”

During the meeting, there were interventions from former Bar Council President, Barrister Eta Bisong Jr.
