Ange-Raphael, Douala organises vigilante to fight theft

Unidentified individuals riding on a motor bike recently ripped off the purse of Armelle, student at the University of Douala, at Ange – Raphael containing the sum of 50,000 CFA francs and several valuables.

Two days later, the purse of Carine Chuissep was also stolen in the same conditions.

Testimonies collected from Ange-Raphael reveals that thieves operating on bikes have been around that particular area for over a month now, situation which does not leave the inhabitants indifferent.

The brutal aggression of a student Julie at 9:00pm, brought them out of their hinges. They have undertaken to establish vigilance committees. "It is too much, every day they seize the bags of our mothers and our sisters in the district. We will track down them," warns a resident of Ange-Raphael.
