ESSOKA security rubbishes alleged 40m bank robbery by guard

The Director General of ESSOKA Security Company, Joseph Nsoh, popularly called “ESSOKA” has rubbished accusations labeled against one of its guards, Raphael Ndifon Funoh about the recent robbery that occurred at the Afriland First Bank, Bafoussam.

Mr. Nsoh was last Monday interviewed at the Bamenda head office and he minimized all sorts of declarations against his guard and said that was a non event.

Speaking on behalf of the DG, retired police commissioner, Patch Isaac, who is acting as chief investigator in the ESSOKA security company refuted allegations that their agent was involved in the bank robbery rather, he stated that their agent was robbed by the cashier of the Afriland First Bank, Bafoussam.

He questioned how a cashier would leave his office open, stay out for over two hours just to come back and cry foul. Patcha equally questioned wryly whether the keys of the office were heavy to carry.

The alleged robbery, he went on was a well designed and programmed plan considering that the day was a public holiday which was less busy and the attention of other workers and public would be avoided.

The guard had manned the internal security service of the bank after which the senior cashier/ accountant told him he was going to check his vehicle under repair. After some time, he alerted the police claiming that he had been robbed of the sum 40 million FCFA.

Patcha wondered if the act was not a well organised deal between the cashier, the guard and the house keeper and other workers on duty. How could the guard go way with such an amount of money unnoticed, he questioned. Why was the money not kept in the safe and why the office was the office left open he continued.

Patcha however concluded that his ESSOKA security company will remain the unbeatable security company in the country that trains guard before recruitment.

He further warned that no amount of threats from opponents will deter them from good services and remaining a leading security company.
