Kumba II Red Cross officials elected

After several years in the dooldrums, Meme Red Cross has been reorganized with Chief Martin Fonkeng elected Director of First Aid in-charge of Teaching of the Kumba II Red Cross Detachment.

Chief Fonkeng who was elected by acclamation on Monday, March 10, 2014, will be assisted by Ngechop Prisco Asaba and Ashu Manfred, who were elected by acclamation, as Secretary and Director of Information respectively.

The Director of First AID of the Meme Red Cross, Ndukong Raphael, who presented or proposed Chief Fonkeng to the other members, before his appointment said that by virtue of age and long experience, Chief Fonkeng Martin, was all round qualified to be elected Director of First Aid Incharge of Teaching.

While describing Chief Fonkeng as square peg in a square hole, Ndukong Raphael appealed to the other Red Cross members, especially the SG and the Director in-charge of Information to work closely with Chief Fonkeng in order to ease his functions.

Also speaking, the President of Meme Red Cross Movement Kumba II, Mangeb Mathias appealed to members of that association, that the Red Cross movement is a humanitarian organization and that all its members should be ready to serve without expecting any benefits.

Before the installation, Chief Fonkeng Martin appreciated the initiative of the Red Cross members to chose him as director of First Aid in-charge of Teaching and went on to promise that henceforth the teaching of First Aid in Kumba II would be intensified.
