Youth educated on citizenship in Edéa

At the initiative of l’Ecole citoyenne et politique in Yaoundé, the youth in Edea benefited from a training session last week.

Fairground classes, multifaceted training framework laid out by the l’Ecole citoyenne et politique in Yaoundé (ECPY), held in Edéa. For this second edition after that of Akonolinga, 60 young people from the "city of light" were equipped on the notions of citizenship, decentralization and national unity.

During the three days, ECPY experts developed some important lessons on the contribution of the citizens in the construction of national unity, in a context of decentralization.

A partition of the ECPY to the Symphony of the party of national unity, including the singular note is "to revisit the Republican principles and values in a context of decentralization may be denatured", in the opinion of the Honourable Vincent de Paul Emah Etoundi, Chairman of the Executive Board.

In this momentum, the school positions itself as the relay for governmental guidelines, in the sense of strengthening national unity, cohesion and the participation of youth in the common effort of development.

It is in this spirit that the scientist Pr Jean - Emmanuel Pondi, Coordinator of the ECPY delivered his inaugural lecture, focusing on the natural environment, wildlife riches and ethnic diversity of Cameroon, 'Africa in miniature', 'positive exception'.

Young people were thus asked to take an active part in the construction of Cameroon, in a spirit of peace and patriotism.

Created in 2012, l’Ecole citoyenne et politique (different from the political Academy of the CPDM) Yaoundé is a sub-regional vocation for political association.

"She intends to fill the need for training and education of young people for citizenship and politics. This in order to maintain strong patriotic flame and Republican values", said Vincent de Paul Emah Etoundi.

The workshop in Edéa was chaired by the prefect of the Sanaga Maritime, Fritz Seme Dikosso.
