Lycée Général Leclerc has regained its image of nobility since the arrival of the principal, Élisabeth Ntonga, two years ago, in the public school.

Discipline, safety and success has been the school’s hallmark since her appointed.

Any visitor, who arrives today at the Lycée Général Leclerc (LGL), was immediately amazed by the State of cleanliness. Unlike what is observed elsewhere, it is rare to see bits of paper lurking around.

Grass gave way to sumptuous green spaces. Shrubs are scattered everywhere and provide shade when it's hot. The walls are regularly re-painted and clean. No wild display.

To preserve the establishment in this beauty, the principal Élisabeth Ntonga placed particular emphasis on discipline. Students must respect certain rules, which move from, personal hygiene to the preservation of the environment. Those who violate this requirement are recalled to order. Still in the context of the discipline, the timetables are scrupulously respected.

Students no longer hang around the court or outside the premises during school hours. Teachers also have their role to play and must make every effort to cover their programme. As a reminder, in the aftermath of her appointment, she promised to involve all her collaborators.

"This isn't a personal work, it is a team effort. I take the risk of not disappointing the dignitaries who gave me confidence in this post as principal in a high school where, the president of the Republic, Paul Biya was formed,” she told the press at the time of her appointment in 2013.

As a Result, LGL reoccupied an honourable place in the ranking published annually by the office of the baccalaureate. Indeed, the official examinations success rate improved considerably, since Élisabeth Ntonga, a Mvog Atemengue in the capital, took over of this prestigious institution.

The rigour and the grip of this dynamic lady brings happiness, especially since she decided to fight against corruption and fraud in her establishment.
