Woman and her seven children dead in Douala fire buried

The bodies of Kuessik Régine and her 7 children who died in a fire outbreak on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in their home were laid to rest over the weekend.

Their bodies were taken from the Laquintine morgue and a vigil was held on Friday May 15 for the victims at their residence and internment followed on Saturday at Bana village in the West Region.

Those who attended the funeral could not help but wail once the coffins carrying the 8 bodies were brought out for the vigil at the Mboppi district. The police in Douala who were informed about the incident are investigating the circumstance that led to the unfortunate incident.

The results of the investigation by the gendarmerie brigade of Douala 2nd have not yet been published.

But a source from the family told Cameroon-info.net that the results of the investigation revealed that it was arson. Suspected of a murder case some people close to the victims were arrested and released later. The case will be revisited after the burial of the deceased.
