Urine stolen in Bangoua

Bangoua Bangoua

The Catholic school in Bangoua, like other primary schools and some markets in the district of Bangangté, benefited from the MODEAB project (Project Management in the areas of Sustainable Water and Sanitation in the Municipality of Bangangté), of ecological latrines.

The peculiarity of these latrines is to separate the urine and feces for their reuse in agriculture.

Last year, the sisters, who were witnesses, were happy at the reuse of urine for fertilizer. Not only were they congratulated, the town was visited by several farmers who were curious and came to discover this new technique in the region. They were to extend their experience this year to others.

They forgot to close the toilet and someone stole all the precious excreta. Thus, the farm of the Catholic school that has received enrichment may not produce much. Did the thief know that urine is also a herbicide? If badly used, he may have his plants burned and he may have a bad harvest, especially as God has ordained!
