Underprivileged students get scholarships in Mbiame

Forty-four underprivileged students from Government High School Mbiame, Government Bilingual Secondary School Mbonso, Government Bilingual Secondary School Lip and Government Technical School Mbiame in Mbven Sub-division, Bui Division, Northwest Region have received FCFA 885,000 scholarships.

A scholarship of FCFA 25,000 each went to lower sixth students, while the scholarship for each laureate from classes three to four was FCFA 20,000 each and for each underprivileged from the Mbororos and the palace was FCFA 15,000.

MEDEVA Executive President, Justice Sunjo Didacus Leinyuy, said the scholarships were part of the first edition of MEDEVA incentive and excellence award scheme.

The scheme, Justice Sunjo added, aims at encouraging, promoting and rewarding hard work and excellence, culture, leadership, craftsmanship, among others.
Sunjo said in its premier implementation programme, MEDEVA agreed to work in the field of education.

According to the MEDEVA Executive President, the laureates were not only those who excelled in academics but equally those underprivileged who showed remarkable positive progress.

The Executive President said the laureates should serve as an inspiration to all including MEDEVA while the teaching staff should embrace the art of teaching with zeal.
