Three children die in fire

Two of the three young victims died as a result of a fire in a shack at Tergal, a popular neighborhood in Douala on the night of Sunday, July 5, 2015.

They are two and four-year-old children of Nguefack couple. All contents of their modest home went up in flames. The third who died was also two years old.

The cause of the fire, which began shortly after 10 pm when Tergal was plunged in darkness as a result of electricity cut, cannot be identified by firefighters present, a source told CT.

The children were caught up in the fire while the parents had escaped the flames. The circumstances of the tragedy is however not very accurate, although the inhabitants promptly intervened to extinguish flames.

The bodies have been deposited at the morgue of the Nylon District Hospital.
