Terrorism: Public buildings under tight security

The security threat that haunts the country leads managers to take extraordinary steps to avoid disaster.

At the entrance of the national television (CRTV) in Mballa II neighborhood in Yaoundé, you must show your credentials to gain access to the building.

The usual security service, which is a secondary army unit for some time, has been reinforced by other men in uniform. Even the employees of the company are scrutinized. Beyond the badge, it is a body search. Vehicles, handbags and briefcases are controlled by these agents of the defense forces.

This control is almost identical to that which any user wishing to access the Radio House must submit. "We are here in a sovereignty company and it is normal that such arrangements are made," an official of the structure said in a relaxed manner.
