Soldiers honoured with medals in Maroua, Fotokol

They were delivered by General Camille Nkoa Atenga to division of gendarmes and soldiers deployed on the ground.

The medal ceremony of Valour recently assigned by the head of state for gendarmes and soldiers as part of the war against Boko Haram took place last Friday in two stages.

With celebrations in Maroua, 74 recipients of all ranks received their honours from General Camille Nkoa Atenga, Division General, in the presence of the governor of the Far North region Midjiyawa Bakari. Colonel Jacob Kodji, commander of the 4th Joint Military Region and Colonel Joseph Nouma commander of the Alpha transaction received the Medal of Military Valour Cross of Cameroon with citation to the Order of Hosts.

Among other distinctions, we noted five medals in the cross of the military value of Cameroon, to the order of the army; 27 medals of bravery to the order of the army and 40 medals of valour.

To mark their solidarity with the men at the front, the commander Colonel Jacob Kodji of operation "Emergence" and Colonel Joseph Nouma, Operation Commander "Alpha" have requested to receive their awards at Fotokol in the Logone and Chari with a quota of Cameroonian troops who took position.

After that of Maroua, the Major General and the governor went to Fotokol for a similar ceremony.
