Reckless motorist kills two people

Accident Accident

Some four seriously wounded people are battling for their lives at the Laquintinie Hospital.

Gregory Amuzuwa Obodo and an unidentified adult were the unfortunate victims of an accident at Dernier Poteau, Douala that could have been averted if not for the drunken state of a 47-year-old driver, Ngongang Thierry Alain.

According to reports from the 6th District Police Station, Douala, the driver of the mini-bus heading towards Nkololoun crushed a bike rider going in the same direction.

He then lost control of the vehicle and crossed to the other side of the road separated by an elevated median line, crushing another bike rider and pedestrians. In all, six victims were recorded; two died on the spot and four seriously injured.

Fearing for his safety, Ngongang Thierry rushed to the 8th District Police Station and was later ferried to the 1st District Police Station for questioning. The wounded and corpses were respectively taken to the Laquintinie Hospital and Mortuary.
