Presidential grant received with joy in Manoka

A boat worth 5 million F recently received will contribute to the transport of people and goods from the island to Douala.

They needed this boat and made it known during the launch of the feast of unity in their locality May 15. The head of the State, through the Ministry of youth and Civic Education (Minjec), presented the canoe equipped with a 40 HP engine to the national youth Council of Manoka (district of Douala VI).

This boat with a value of nearly $ 5 million F was greeted with joy by the inhabitants of the locality. To the sous-préfet Armstrong Voh, the delegate of Minjec Léonard Logmo I of Semjock, or even the president of the youth Adolphe Eboumbou Eboumbou, Mahato populations now have a means of transport to evacuate fishing and farm products.

"If the head of State has thought of this area, then it is an honor because we are not the only area in the country. Also many projects are coming," noted the sous-préfet.

For the proper management of this heritage a commission has been established. It will be responsible for collection of revenue generated by the canoe in a transparent manner, for the realization of other development projects for the locality.

According to Mary Tabeth, president of Ofrdpc, "it's an important aid, a relief for us who have activities between Douala and Manoka, we are satisfied."

At 3 pm, the first passengers aboard the boat called "Gift of the head of State” left for the economic city for 1½ hours of travel.
