The presidential couple, Paul Biya and Chantal Biya, has sent support items to victims of the suicide attack, attributed to Boko Haram, in Kerewa few days ago .

This was welcomed by a thunderous applause by the 3 000 displaced persons and refugees based in Kerawa.

The victims of the atrocities of the Boko Haram sect receive both material and financial support from Cameroon's presidential couple. The items were brought to them by the Governor of the Far North Region, Midjiyawa Bakari.

In the message that he sent to them, he clarified that “due to the dual bomb attack on Thursday, September 3, 2015, in the city of Kerawa, the head of state immediately decided to bring them provisions; these are food and financial support.”

The governor especially noted that the head of state reassured that he will spare no effort to restore peace as soon as possible, but "he also urges you to participate in the collaboration and effective involvement in the war against Boko Haram, our common enemy. You must report suspected persons to the administrative and military authorities. Besides, those who act accordingly will be rewarded at the highest level, because these are encouraging acts of patriotism,” said Midjiyawa Bakari.

After the first stop in Kerawa, the procession of the governor stopped at Kolofata, which had also recorded many cases of injury. To the relief of all, out of the hundred victims who were admitted at the hospital in Kolofata, only 14 were still there under observation, with the rest discharged. Also, in Mora only eight injured were still in hospital.

The Governor, before leaving, handed to each patient an amount of money in an envelope stating that "it is the gesture from the presidential couple, Paul and Chantal Biya to you.”

Before leaving Mayo-Sava, after meeting with the authorities of this department, the governor instructed the administrative and traditional authorities to further activate the vigilance committees to reinforce the battle among the intelligence team.
