In the aftermath of suicide attacks committed in the far North Region, the Governor, Midjiyawa Bakary, has called on Eneo to do everything possible to avoid recurring power cuts in the area which undergoes Boko Haram threats.

The warning from the boss of the region has visibly not been heeded to by officials of Eneo because several places in this part of the country have remained immersed in the dark for several months.

"Maga has already entered the third month (under power cuts). We have passed it to the hierarchy; the economy at the level of the Borough of Maga is paralyzed. We witnessed a situation of insecurity and the situation is aggravated by the cut in electrical energy," said Abdoulaye Oumarou, sub-prefect of Maga over Crtv, on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.

The centre of broadcast, FMTV, of Cameroon Radio and Television (Crtv), located in Mora in County Mayo Sava is also plunged in the dark since July, after the breakdown of a transformer, according to sources.

However, the national television signal is more successful in several homes. The power cuts did not also spare some districts of Maroua, the capital of the Far North.

Eneo officials who were contacted did not wish to comment on this situation. They will certainly have to give explanations to the very dynamic Governor of the Region of the far North who has multiplied security measures against the Boko Haram threats.
