The head count of homes has set the tone for distribution due to begin on August 8, 2015.

All is virtually set for the North West Region to receive free Long-lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINS) in the government’s efforts to roll back malaria. At Regional Malaria Control Unit in Bamenda, the Coordinator, Dr Odile Tchekountouo, told Cameroon Tribune that the distribution exercise may start on August 8, 2015, with some 1,093,654 nets available for distribution. Some 12 million bed nets are expected to be distributed in the country at the end of the exercise.

In the meantime, the North West Region has trained community agents, completed a head count of households and distributed vouchers to facilitate the process when instructions for distribution are given.

Curtains dropped on preliminary training and the household count on July 31, 2015. The distribution of the free Long-lasting Insecticidal Mosquito Nets has been scheduled to run from August 8-12, 2015 in the North West Region.
