Ocean Department denizens donates 20m CFAF to Army

Denizens of Ocean Department, southern region, demonstrated solidarity to the fight against the Boko Haram sect by offering a donation of CFAF 20 million to the army.

This comes along as one of the solidarity gestures by nationals towards the armed forces involved in the fight against Boko Haram. Through the national triangle, people mobilized either through support contracts, or by a collection of donations in favour of the Cameroonian army.

The package came from the smallest elementary schools through high schools and colleges, workers, traditional and religious authorities in the Ocean department as a response to the citizen call by Senator Gregory Mba Mba on February 23.

Cash donation and fifty bags of rice and ten cartons of oil were presented by Senator Mba Mba to the prefect of the Ocean Department, Antoine Bissaga on Wednesday.

"This donation by the populations of Kribi represent war effort from the Ocean against Boko Haram", the Chief said.

Antoine Bissaga assured them that, he would hand over the donation to the right quarters.
