Ngaoundéré gears up ahead of SIMAC 2015

The first edition of the international fair of the Agricultural Mechanization of Cameroon (SIMAC) will be held from December 15 to 20 in Yaoundé.

As a prelude to this event organized by the Chamber of Agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and the forests of Cameroon, the regional coordination of the Adamawa recently organized a meeting on information, awareness and mobilization of rural actors.

The Assizes were chaired by the Governor of the region of Adamaoua. For an Honourable participation in the region, Abakar Ahamat asked farmers and ranchers to prepare themselves well. "We meet people who can bring added value. We hope that the presence of Adamawa will be in quantity and honourable in quality", he stressed.

The first vice-president of the Chamber of agriculture, Moussa Koué, presented the challenges of this event. “Agricultural revolution: issues and challenges for efficient and sustainable agriculture ", was chosen as the theme for this exhibition. For five days, the actors of the rural world will exchange with designers and manufacturers of agricultural machinery. "The fair will contribute to the promotion of second generation agriculture", he said.

It is therefore a boon for the region, large agricultural basin; first region of livestock of the country. It has exceptional advantages thanks to the generosity of nature. The regional delegate of the Chamber of Agriculture of Adamawa, Abba Dahirou, said that the show represents a “big opportunity for foresters, beekeepers, forest and wildlife operators, breeders and farmers.”

In addition to agriculture and livestock, flagship activities in the region, the exploitation of wild honey and milk equally occupies thousands of people in the five departments that make up the region. After the presentations, frank exchanges furnished discussions. Five months before this event, Adamawa is already mobilizing.
