New BOBA Exco promises more development

The newly elected National Executive Committee of the association of former students of Cameroon Protestant College, CPC Bali has committed itself to carry out more development projects as well as increase the business interests of the association in various domains.

The commitment was taken during elective general assembly of the Bali Old Boys Association, BOBA that held on the college campus on Saturday 17 January 2015.

During the grand reunion that was attended by representatives of the various branches of BOBA from all over Cameroon as well as the USA and the United Kingdom, the electoral list headed by Raymond Dinga Gwanyalla stood unchallenged and was overwhelmingly voted back into office with acclamation for a second mandate of three years.

In his policy speech shortly after his re-election, the President General of BOBA,Raymond Dinga Gwanyalla pointed out that his new mandate will be dedicated to increasing the business portfolio of BOBA.

In this regard, he pointed out that many investment projects which were started in the previous mandate shall be expanded over the next three years. Some of these include the Douala based warehouse project worth FCFA 400 million which has already been completed.

Thus emphasis will now centre on encouraging BOBANS to buy shares at 100,000 FRS each, the possible expansion of investments to include the transport and commodities sectors, the laying of groundwork for a second warehouse project, the rehabilitation of the David O’neill Library in CPC Bali amongst several other projects.

The last day for the purchase of shares was announced for 28 February 2015. The President General encouraged the BOBANS to trust in his team and invest their money in BOBA projects. To drive home this point he pointed to the fact that an investment committee has already been put in place to ensure that everything is properly done.

Also the modalities for the sharing of dividends have already been made clear and dividends to those who invested in the first projects will be shared soon. Gwanyalla also announced the putting in place of an adhoc committee to network with all BOBANS both at home and abroad and create avenues for greater collaboration.

Some members of the new executive include Atu Charles Fokala who is Vice president general for the north west and west region,Honourable Ikundi Peter who is vice president general for the south west region, Victor Kima who is in charge of the centre region and the rest of the country, Muluh Henry Muluh who is communication secretary, Ntumfor Barrister Nico Halle who is legal adviser ,Dr Ikome Ngongi who is adviser amongst others.

Some members like Peter Essoka were also brought on board to support in the realization of the investment projects of association. Besides presenting a financial report it was disclosed that taking part in the investment initiatives will not in any way stop all the chapters and members from paying their regular dues.

Earlier, the principal of CPC Bali Njita Wilson recounted the positive strides that the school has had including the brilliant end of course results revolving around 100%.A the beginning of the current academic year, he added the school enrolled 1016 students but as of now there are 1005 because some were dismissed for indiscipline while other withdrew.

Also the school can now boast of permanent water supply while there is already a project underway to provide the school with alternative energy such as wind and solar energy. He thus encouraged parents to send their children to CPC Bali because it is the best place for studies.

During the meeting, the new executive committee also presented the new logo of the association, the BOBA website and mailing group while discussions also held on the constitutional review committee which is to work on the proposed revision of the constitution of the organization. Representatives from the USA and the UK were also given the opportunity to contribute ideas on how they can better work closely with their mates back at home.
