Mimboman neighborhood in Yaoundé without water for almost a year

Water Water

Cameroonians are accustomed to untimely cuts of electricity and running water but the inhabitants of Mimboman have gone without water for eight months.

Mutations newspaper, in its edition on Monday August 31, 2015, informed that the people of this district in the heart of the political capital of Cameroon are in desperate need for water while others have given up.

Camwater, national company in charge of water distribution, initially designated a company to proceed with a "pipe connection" network. The company however failed. Only a month after the work was completed, the equipment broke down.

Camwater then appointed Socrocit, another company "specialized in industrial plumbing." But this, like the previous one, experienced difficulties in meeting its obligations.

Thus the people suffer. It is the period of a new school year and they are already facing the new demolition operation initiated by the government delegate of the Urban Community of Yaoundé.
