Meme Chapter of TAC notifies administration of its existence

After administrative threats, later championed by police interrogations association known as a branch of the Teachers Association of Cameroon (TAC) has gone ahead to inform the Meme administration of the existence of the Meme Chapter.

In a letter addressed to the Senior Divisional Officer for Meme titled “A Letter of Notification” the association went on to chronicle the creation of TAC in 1989 and went on to inform the SDO that like all trade unions, TAC activities since its creation have been centered on improving on the qualify of employment and the standard of education and according to TAC no nation can grown above the standard of teachers and its educational system.

The letter signed by TAC Meme Divisional President, Richard Yam further informed the SDO that the Cameroon GCE Board so far remains TAC greatest achievement. Richard Yam recalled that the putting in place of the Meme Chapter of TAC unfortunately coincided with nationwide strike called by the teachers union that have been negotiating with the government in an adhoc committee put in place by the Prime Minister more than 24 months ago.

In order not to be misconstrued by the administrator, mostly believed by the population to be versatile in semantics, Richard Yam emphasised that TAC like all trade unions is not a political party designed to oppose government action, adding that TAC is apolitical.

Continuing, he added TAC is a group of professionals and its activities have been expanded to include monitoring of the educational system and denouncing all irregularities and injustices, examination monitoring, capacity building for teachers, etc.
