Mbog Liaa is 20 years

The association wants a reunification celebration in Edea on June 13.

According to Jerome Minlend, President of Mbog Liaa, 20 years of an event in the Cameroonian context is not negligible. And to mark this special time in the history of the association created in 1995 for the gathering of the people of the cave Ngog Lituba in the Bassa communities - Mpo'o - Bati will have to show more unity, cohesion than in previous years.

"Contrary to what some thought, the Mbog Liaa is not an elitist party. It is a time of gathering of its entire sons and daughters, from all regions in Cameroon. It will be a great fair, there will be something extremely popular," emphasized Jérôme Minlend to the press on June 5 in Douala. On June 13, 2015, therefore, we go to Edea, a city not chosen at random. Indeed, that is where the legally born Mbog Liaa association was created. The event site will be the bishopric, because of the old relationship between all communities of Mbog Liaa and Christianity, particularly the Catholic Church."

The president took the opportunity to recall that contrary to beliefs that would be that Westerners who we have brought the Christian religion, the Bassa - Mpo'o - Bati were already monotheistic and prayed to the same God. He also recalled that "Ngog Lituba is the navel of the world", likening it to a kind of Noah's Ark where God had preserved for him all those who were worthy of being saved. "This is a cultural and religious place that deserves to be returned to by the people," added Jérôme Minlend.

For the actual festivities, there will be traditional dances, rituals of the community and above all, the guest star, Were Were Liking and Ki-Yi Mbock for a special performance.
