Maroua traders contribute to War effort

Maroua traders have stated their stand against Boko Haram and to signify their commitment, they paid a visit to the Governor of the Extreme North Rregion to show their support in the war waged against Cameroon by this terrorist cult.

The guests of Midjiyawa Bakari came with a food truck filled with bags of rice, boxes of pasta, mineral water and juice pallets. For the president of the Association of Young Traders of Maroua (Ajecom) Ousmanou Sadou, “this symbolizes the spirit of solidarity, support as well as our determination to combat this common enemy that is trying to destroy our country," he said .

He continued: "You see, for months among we the traders, there are wholesalers who needs to restock from Nigeria but are unable to because of the prevalent insecurity. It is time to end this barbarity," said the president of the Ajecom just after delivering the cargo to the governor.

Midjiyawa Bakari conducted the solemn and symbolic handover of the donation to the Divisional Commissioner, Eric Asa'a Che, Regional delegate of the Surete National for the Far North, representing all defense and security forces.

The governor, encouraging this initiative, recommended that these young traders continue to support the government action, especially in relation to this war by denouncing any suspected cases. The second phase of this operation urged the traders to donate blood to the victims of the war against Boko Haram in the coming days.
