Man dies after consuming ‘Odontol’ for 1000 FCFA

Lionel Bidoula, 20 years and winner of the illegal game fastest ‘Odontol’ drinker, [a local whisky], which brought together 4 participants from Adoum (South) village, died in ethyl coma.

The 4 participants gathered on Saturday night. They set the rules of the game whereby the person who drinks more litres of ‘Odontol’, will be designated winner of the game and win 1 000 FCFA (1.5 euros).

“After drinking 2 litres of Odontol, Lionel Bidoula was transported to his room by his cousins. He asked that the door be closed. Alone in his room, Lionel went into ethyl coma after which he was found dead when his door was forced open at about 7pm. The gendarmerie and the police have arrested the other participants and opened an investigation.
