L’hôtel des Finances in Bafoussam flooded after heavy rains

Extensive damage has been caused at l’hôtel des Finances in Bafoussam after a heavy downpour last Saturday night.

Most offices in the old building of over 50 years were flooded. Services Area Control of Finance as well as the Tax and Treasury offices was the most affected. The Cenadi office was the least affected by the flood.

Finance officers were spotted carrying documents to other offices. Also plastic covers of electronic devices to prevent water from destroying it continued to come off. Yesterday morning, the show was disappointing in hotel finance Bafoussam.

"I was alerted this morning that the building was flooded. I immediately hurried to see the damage”, stated Liman Mohaman Abba, the Regional Controller of Finance.

The head of the MiFi, Joseph Tangwa Fover and the Secretary General of the Region, Simon Emile Mooh also arrived at the scene. Technicians were busy assessing the damage and to see how fast they can replace the roof that came off as a result of strong winds.

As part of the measures taken, Ministry of Finance (Minfi) was closed by its Secretary General (SG) while the Contrôle régional des Finances workers were relocated to the Cenadi office.

According to Mohaman Liman Abba, some officers will have to work on their archives because several were destroyed by the water.
