Irregularities spotted in ENS Bambili entrance exam list

One hundred candidates faced this situation Friday and Saturday during the entrance examination in Yaoundé.

Ruth Megha, student at the University of Dschang, candidate for the entrance to the École normale superior Bambili, was surprise to find out that her name did not appear on any of the lists as she was preparing to sit the examination.

"I have not had the courage to go and write as those who are in the same situation as me. I know in advance that it is pointless to write. I understand that I failed without having written," she explains with a disheartened look.

She had in hand proof of her registration: receipts for Bank payment, access card, receipt of deposits of folder in addition to her national identity card. "I spent more than 40,000 F for my record and today my name does not appear anywhere", she added.

In the domain of social sciences, it is the same. The previous day, more than 70 candidates were surprised not to have seen their names on any list. For some, the names were found in other study areas. And these errors are noticeable both in the first, and the second cycle.

In social sciences, only 151 names were visible on the lists. "There we were asked to come at 6:30 because provisions were going to be taken to enable us to cope. It is only at 10: 00 that we were able to enter in the room", explains a candidate.

On some names present, the dates and places of births were omitted. "It is really not known what will eventually happen with all these omissions", said another candidate.

However, officials of this examination are reassuring. "We recorded those who have their receipt of submission, receipts of payment and identification card; they were composed in another room. Those who have refused to call in are not certainly confident", noted Professor Fotso, one of those on mission on behalf of the École normale supérieure in Bambili.

According to him, the errors are understandable: the review recorded this year 17,000 candidates in all cycles, a figure higher than last year, according to the same source.
