Integration of trained youth on track

The Aquaculture Territorial Committee of Ebolowa Station has just validated six agro-pastoral projects proposed by six students of the Support Project for Professional Training in the Domain of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (AFOP).

This was a result of a project analysis following norms laid out by the project.

This first phase of projects validation mobilized a good number of managers and program experts, who have harmonized integration tools.

This indicates the quality of the training received by these learners, and determination of monitors in supporting young people to develop their projects.

If is left for the South Finance Committee (FC) to judge the financial relevance of these projects so that disbursements can follow.

The comments were on the projects so that they are approved by the Finance Committee. This means that at this stage, no project will be refused by the CT and CF. These services can, at least return projects requiring amendments to the training centres following the comments by members.

Project Validation Workshops are a first of its kind for the various territorial and financial committees.

Committees were trained to analyze the viability of projects for young learners during a workshop held earlier in Ebolowa.

To fulfil their role of education and validation of projects presented by the first batch of young farmers (EA1), the committee members were imbued with the approach of analyzing the viability of projects (approach specific to AFOP program).

Then their capacities were strengthened in a bit to start the process of analysis, validation, financing and implementation of projects from trained youths.

This intervention by AFOP program is the culmination of work that began a year ago, with the development of the integration procedure manual insertion followed by the signing in early February 2014 by the Ministers in charge of regulatory text allowing the program to carry out the integration action
