IUT develops online platform for students and teachers

A learning platform for Cameroonian students and teachers has been released online. It puts at their disposal more than 2000 resources, destined for teachers and students of polytechnics of Cameroon, specifically Douala, Ngaoundéré, Bandjoun.

"IUTenLigne" enhances the educational platform, by the installed mirror server from the University of Douala. And to accompany this installation, a five days training for trainers and for teachers and professionals from three Cameroonian institutions concerned with the platform ended Friday on the campus of the IUT in Douala.

Pr Dontsi, Vice-Rector of the University of Douala in charge of lessons, professionalization and development of information and communication technologies, summarized the merits of this project: "it will allow our students and our teachers to know what is taught in Alsace, France, in the other IUT since fifteen years. It allows not only to update but to read just our courses taking into account our environment, our culture. It also allows us to know what is done elsewhere, so that when we will graduate our students, they can compare their level with the same diplomas in France, in the United States, Canada, etc."

The platform is the result of cooperation between the Cameroonian IUT and those of Alsace-Lorraine in France. The project marks the phase of appropriation and mutual exchange of a collaboration that lasts ten years and resulted in particular to acquire equipment, buildings and which has encouraged the formation of the teachers/researchers of the University of Douala.
