Hurricane wrecks 50 homes

Thousands of Nwa inhabitants in Donga-Mantung Division, Northwest Region, are reportedly without homes after a hurricane reduced their abodes to rubble, Sunday, April 20.

The Post learnt that some of the displaced persons are squatting in Nwa Council hall while others are putting up with relatives and friends. The hurricane, which was accompanied by heavy rainfall, is said to have caused enormous damage to property yet to be assessed.

The Divisional Officer for Nwa has reportedly sent out an SOS calling on sympathisers for assistance. The Mayor of Nwa, Dr. David Ngonfe Luma, was not immediately available to comment on the disaster.
